On July 1, 2021, a motor vehicle collision occurred in Fort Bend County, Texas, when a travel trailer, being pulled by a vehicle traveling eastbound on Mariner Point Lane, reportedly failed to yield at a stop sign and turned left into the path of a vehicle traveling southbound on McMurtry Ridge Drive. The collision impacted the front of the southbound vehicle, which was carrying its driver and two passengers, including a minor.
The driver of the southbound vehicle, acting individually and on behalf of the minor passenger, filed a complaint on March 17, 2023. The plaintiff alleged the defendant was negligent by failing to yield the right-of-way, maintain proper lookout, stop, or take evasive action, resulting in injuries to the plaintiffs. The plaintiffs sought damages for medical expenses, pain and suffering, mental anguish, and physical impairment.
