Jury Awards $3.3 Million for Truck Broadside Collision

A legal dispute arose following an incident in which a passenger in an automobile was struck broadside by a truck. The plaintiff alleged the truck operator was negligent, citing a failure to deploy flares or cones and claiming that the truck's safety devices were covered by a tarp at the time of the collision.

During the proceedings, the plaintiff presented expert testimony from fields including professional engineering, traffic engineering, accident reconstruction, neuropsychology, forensic pathology, and neurology to establish liability and the extent of injuries and damages. The defendant countered with experts specializing in psychiatry, disability assessment, accident reconstruction, and neurological surgery, addressing the circumstances of the incident and the plaintiff's medical condition.

Following a trial, an award of $3,300,000 was issued.
