Pueblo County, Colorado Jury Awards $2,500 in Car Crash

A passenger was involved in two separate motor vehicle accidents in 2010 in Colorado. The first incident occurred on June 26, 2010, involving a vehicle driven by one defendant, and the second on October 5, 2010, involving a vehicle driven by another. The plaintiff later filed a lawsuit in Pueblo County District Court, Colorado, on June 12, 2013, alleging that each defendant's negligent driving caused the collisions. The plaintiff sought damages for bodily injury, pain and suffering, and medical expenses.

The first defendant denied liability. The second defendant asserted that any damages related to the plaintiff's injuries pre-existed the October 2010 accident. The second defendant was subsequently dismissed from the case on February 5, 2015, following a stipulation between the parties. On February 19, 2015, a jury found in favor of the plaintiff on the claim against the first defendant and awarded $2,500 in damages.
