Boulder County Jury Awards $852,055 in Motor Vehicle Crash

A motor vehicle collision occurred in Colorado involving a vehicle operated by the defendant and another vehicle carrying the plaintiff and a passenger. The plaintiff alleged serious injuries, pain, emotional distress, loss of enjoyment of life, impairment of earning capacity, and incurred medical expenses. The passenger reportedly died as a result of the incident. The plaintiff subsequently filed a vehicular liability action against the defendant in the Colorado District Court, 20th Judicial District, County of Boulder, asserting claims for negligence and seeking compensatory and exemplary damages.

Following the verdict, the plaintiff filed motions to amend the judgment to include statutory pre-judgment interest and court costs. The judge subsequently granted these motions. The final judgment included an award of $837,459 for principal and statutory interest, along with $14,596 in incurred costs, bringing the adjusted total award to $852,055.
