A police pursuit of a speeding car led to a collision at an intersection. The fleeing car ran a red light and struck another vehicle that was proceeding through the intersection on a green light. The collision caused the victim's car to roll over. One occupant of the struck vehicle died from their injuries, and the other occupant was seriously injured. The injured occupant and the deceased's estate sued several municipalities, alleging recklessness in the police pursuit. The case was tried against the City of Indianapolis, and a jury awarded damages to the plaintiffs.
